The Good Pain

Just a quick side note, if you guys have any friends with blogs, or you have a Blog, please follow this! I would really like to see it start to get somewhere. And please feel free to provide feedback, i'd love to hear it.

Doctors, Dentists, Surgeons, all of them have one thing in common, but all their occupations are very contradictory. They make you well, and heal your scars, but have you noticed something? People are terrified of them. Because when something needs repairing, it requires removing ALL of the bad stuff and starting again. It sucks, because to get well, you need to endure a little more pain, to make sure, it doesn't come back. With that in mind, i have news for you. God Loves you. The best bit about knowing this, is just that. Its all you ever, ever need to know. The God who stepped down into time, sacrificed his son, made the heavens and the Earth, The beginning and the end, cares to spare a thought for you. If you can simply comprehend that, embrace that fact, that he does in fact love you, you're set. But what you need to understand, is God loves you enough to hurt you, if its for the right reasons. And by hurt, i dont mean scold you. But if theres a thorn in your foot, God will remove it. And yeah, its going to hurt, but only through removing it can he heal it. You need to let go. Don't embrace a thorn that causes you to limp.

Something we have to be ever mindful of in our lives, is just what foundation we are building the things in our life off. Don't get me wrong, God loves it when we care for ourselves, but we need to be ever mindful that we are hosting the presence of God. He walks with you, and you path a way for his Spirit to move in. But when you work on things, from Relationships, Financial Struggles, Self Discipline, and even just being yourself, You have to make sure you build it keeping in mind, the spirit you host. Doing that, is easy. You listen to God's voice, and do as he asks, and no matter how ridiculous it is, it is exactly what you needed to do. But here's the thing. Satan's great at mimicking that voice. And too often, people find they reach a point in something, where they are so convinced its built around God. Satan steps back, pleased that its not all where it should be, and God tears it back down. Not to hurt you, but because leaving it where it is will hurt you so much more. Thats the thing to be ever mindful of. Let the God that made you keep Remaking you, he never runs out of ideas, and will always take you to a new place, just keep in mind that when your working on something that matters to you, you need to make sure it matters to God aswell, because if its not something he wants, he'll just tear it back down, because thats something he needs to do before he can heal that wound, and you can walk again. But this time, without a limp.

How on earth, do i take something i love so much, and just give it all back to him, when I know he is going to take it down?
Thats the thing. Your not meant to understand it. Live by faith, and not by sight. Give it back to him, and be open to hear what he has to say. Sometimes you'll hate it, but it will always be what you needed to hear. And if you take that advice, and work on it, practically, you'll start to see a real difference being made. Even if it hurts at first. Believe me, I know it does, but when you pull that thorn out, you'll see God has a much better plan. And a lot of the time, God's plans aren't something that make you comfortable, or even at peace about whats going on. Thats the best bit though. When God's doing something, he isn't a God of comfort. He will break that thing in you that needs to be broken, because he loves you. And your going to have to step out in faith, and do something hard, something you don't like. But soon enough, when the reward comes, you'll be so glad you did. Be wary though, sometimes a reward doesn't always come, and things get worse. Go back to God, and ask again, what you need to do. Cause either you heard wrong, or Satan's fighting back, because your starting to do what God needs you to do. And that scares the crap out of him. Just make sure when you hear from God, you spend some time soaking in his presence, and make sure that move is right. Because if its not, he will tear it down, again and again, until you get it right. Is he a God of promise? Yes. Absolutely. So much so, he will do everything and anything to ensure he fulfills that promise, even if it means breaking something in you.

  1. Hey Josh,
Great post! Just a few things :

    - Stans great at mimicking that voice (whoops :D)

and the font you have used displays terribly on firefox (looks great on chrome tho :D)

Can I also make a small suggestion, that thru your writing, relate back to scripture verses if you know them. What you have written is fantastic, but to top it off, if you relate back a few times, or even start with a verse that what you are talking about that it all can relate to, you've sealed it :D (I've noticed you've stuck Psalm 37:5 at the bottom ;))

Just my thoughts tho :) I've heard far too many preachers who get on a tangent and forget about the Word (me included!!)

Last but not least - Keep it up!!
