Little Things

How are we all? Few new features, there is a search bar to the side to search for things in my blog, please leave any comments for feedback, and down the bottom there is a voting/opinion poll if you guys have any suggestions! Thanks for the support guys, the "Fan Base", so to speak, is growing, sitting on around 420 views, SO pleased! hahaha keep spreading it, if you would! You guys are ALL so awesome, God Bless each and every one of you. I hope you get as much out of this one as i have, so, dig in.

Little things. Its amazing how so often we can overlook all the little things in favor of the big thing. If you see a flood, no one looks at it and says "I wonder how many raindrops went into making that flood". No, you kind of just look at it as a whole. But thats the thing, Without rain, or, "small things", that big thing, that HUGE flood, so much more than any one ran drop could achieve, would never have happened. We are so quick to look to a big job, because we want a big reward, but somehow all the little jobs slip through our grasp. And that's so wrong. In fact, its the little jobs, the little things that may never actually pay off, that require the most faith to go through with. Faith to move a mountain, comes from faith to move a hill, or even just a stone. You need to build up, like building muscle. Start small, and be faithful in repetition of doing the odd chore here or there for your parents, that they may not even notice. Pick up that bit of rubbish at your school, save someone else doing it. They aren't big things, at all. But its so easy to ignore God's voice in that, because, well, you can't see a purpose in it. God does, but you don't.

Funny thing happened to me a little while back at Kids Church camp. I have this nack for chewing on things with my front teeth and seeing what i can chew through. I did this for like, a few months, chewing through pen lids and stuff, i thought i was pretty cool. Then, you go for the big fish. I was soo confident i could chew through this big piece of copper wire, about 1ml thick. So, i started chewing, give or take, 10 seconds later? Yeah, i chipped my tooth. But thats the thing, yeah, i failed this time, but, what if i had gotten through? Theres no way i could have come even close, if i hadn't had a shot at the smaller things. Now, if you try something bigger and fail, dont worry. Even failure builds muscle, but when you do the small things, and trust God to answer you with the little things that don't matter so much to you, you start to see God for the person he is. The things he asks you to do, those little things, give you faith and confidence to land something big, WHEN you're ready. A cool reference i hard to this was on a website called http://www.therebelution.com. Check it out, amazing website. They were talking about Vikings, and how they were the most incredible super power in their times. But do you know why? They rowed themselves to shore, in their longboats. Yeah, those 20 tonne longboats, they CHOSE to row by themselves. They had slaves who could do it, but, the Vikings did it. they rowed the whole way. So, basically, these guys are RIPPED. They are absolutely covered in muscle, because they had faith in the small, little act of rowing to shore, which in turn, built muscle, which, in turn, gave them strength to do big things. These guys rocked up and made a mess of things. Its no wonder half of England was terrified of them. They had faith in small things. THATS something to be scared of. Matthew 25:21 says: "You have been faithful with a little, so I will give you much". When God see's that were going to take EVERYTHING he asks us to do seriously, even the little things, he'll start to trust us with big things.

But, like, Josh, how do i know when enough is enough? How do i know when to push for bigger things? I'm so over small things, I can't see any point in it at all.
2 Corinthians 5:7- "We live by faith and not by sight". That should answer the latter. You don't need to see God's hand to know its there. Its like air. You don't see it, in fact, you probably take it for-granted, but, its always there. How do you know when to settle for little things though? Psalm 32:10- Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.Well, thats the thing. You never stop, and steadfast love will surround you and strengthen you. If God gives you something big, you'll know if you have the strength to tackle it. If not, ask him. But always, always, through repetition, build that muscle. Eventually you'll land something huge, whether by yourself, or in a team, and you'll reap a huge harvest.  I don't care what you do, you can clean toilets for all I care, but trust God with it, and when you clean one super messy toilet bowl, give god the praise. hahaha that gross, but seriously, Try it this week. Do a few small things, don't tell anyone, but trust God with little, insignificant things. Whether its paying for a randoms train ticket, thanking the crossing lady, whatever, i challenge you to go out of your way each day to do something small, and watch how God honors that. Be blessed.

Take a Stand

Im going to be honest with you now, and leave you with a choice. If you read this, you're going to be challenged to make a few changes with your life. And, well, if you're not up for a bit of a shift, I'd simply suggest you close the page. I'm not here to please you, but I promise you, you'll be blessed if you read up on this! Check down the bottom in the comments section after you read if you want too, I'll leave a comment you may want to read, i would include it in the Blog but that may be a bit long! Check out the Bible Verse and Link too (bit of a girly song this week) down the bottom of this blog. Anyway, enough flattery. Dig in.

Do you stand out? And i dont mean the Wear a crazy shirt jeans down to your knees glasses at night freak who everyone looks at and backs off, I mean, can people look at you, and see a difference? When people, your friends, go out clubbing, see a movie you know you shouldn't see, gossip about someone or are even just rude in general, do they look at you, and see a difference? Or do they see a "Christian" who'll wear the tag, but go on living life how they want to? I tell you, honestly, If your faith hasn't changed the way you act on the outside, then it sure hasn't changed anything on your inside. And, yeah, that's hard to hear. but if you accepting Jesus into your heart never caused you to make a change in your day to day life, then i'm saying its time to take a good, long look at where you stand, and ask yourself, If you had the strength to change anything and everything in your life, what would you change for God? That thought you just had, yeah, you know. The one that popped in but you immediately dismissed because you were afraid of a bit of Conflict. God is bigger than that. Does God honestly define you, as a person, or is he just there? Check out Matthew 7:3-5Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How  can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." Will God's word be a Spotlight on your life, lighting your path and guiding you down the straight and narrow, or a night light that flickers in the darkness, only lighting up when things get hard? You know what. In the end, standing for God is easier. Your friends who get drunk and do drugs, see movies and sleep around? Give it 20 years, and think about where they will be. You do a few little things now, set your foundations straight, and think about where you will be in the same amount of time. Guarantee, those friends, in 20 years time, will think you made the easy choice. Not that Christianity is easy, no, we're called to die to ourselves. But its a lot easier than ending up homeless, depressed, divorced, alcoholic, jailed, or worse. Michael Angelo puts it well- "The danger is not that our aim is too high and we miss, but that it is too low and we hit it.".

But Josh!! Standing up means, well, work. Things will get hard! Can't i just sit down with God and relax? I mean, i'm not the working type anyway. God understands that.
You know the coolest part about standing for God? You start to cop it from all angles. Yeah, I sound like an idiot. But you know when you come under trial, you must be doing something right. John 17:14-16- "I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do.". If you died, right now, ask yourself, would you be happy? You know that old saying, its not whats on the outside that counts, its whats on the inside. Now, yeah, that's so true, but honestly, who wants to hide a light? If you died today, would you go to Heaven because your heart, on the inside, saved you, or would God race down to you and bring you to Heaven, because you were the kind of Child who didn't just know right from wrong on the inside, but lived it out. God doesn't call you into a comfortable place to sit with him. No, we have an eternity for that. God calls you to work, to pick up your cross and die to yourself, and work from him. And not only because its right for you, but you help others. You set the standard for Christians. When people look at you and know you're Christian, you need to be a role model to them. And you know the coolest thing? He is the best boss. I mean, he supplies your tools, strength, works outside your schedule so you won't always miss out  on what you want to do, and, he always pays overtime. Thats my challenge for you, simply change whats on the inside, and let that reflect whats on the outside. Its time to make a stand. Show people who you are. God doesn't call the able, he calls the available. Let him do the rest for you, just put your heart out for him. And, even more so, LISTEN TO HIM, DO HIS WORK, AND BE BLESSED! Yeah, thats right. I'm telling you to be blessed! Why? Because you're awesome. Thanks for Reading :) Be blessed!

Torn in Two

This is a bit of an... "out there" blog, umm, yeah, i dont have words for it. Basically, im sitting here right now, and I have no idea what im about to type. So get excited, cause im not going to type what i wanted to, just what God puts on my heart as i listen to this Worship Music, so yeah, hope you're all prepared. You'll find in here something to challenge you, but more so, a spirit that will love on you. Brace yourself. By the way, in future, maybe pop to the bottom of my blog first, open the Youtube video, and listen to it as you read. You may find it helps, I know it helps me. Thanks for reading, and, as I said. Brace Yourself....

I see, just as i type this, a crack, above each of your heads, and Heaven opens- and something's about to plonk into your lap. Just receive that. Ok, now with the good stuff.

Matthew 6:10- May your kingdom come, may your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Heaven, engaging earth. Interesting thought, that God, in his infinite glory, would step down on earth, allow even his feet to gather dust as he walked, to come and simply, simply, serve. the God of EVERYTHING, who made Heaven, Earth, and everything in-between, is stepping down, even now, after his crucifixion, to simply serve you. If he, would do that for you, then far out, you need to be willing to do at least as much back. Not your will, but his. The thing holding this back, is us. Our hearts to serve are there, but through simply being born into sin, we all have a curtain over us, that says God's blessing will fall, and land on that curtain, not my lap. That, my friends, is rubbish. When Jesus died, he opened that curtain. He broke that line of comfort that came with knowing God. God isn't a comfortable God. If your comfortable with a God of infinite size living in you, clearly you haven't got the real God living in you. He will ask you to do things, you would never usually do. But, GOD IS GOOD. He will provide for this. Notice, The story of Jesus crucifixion didn't end with his final breath as he broke sin. No, he went that one step further.

What!? One more Step? You mean God gets cooler?? No way. The best thing he did was beat sin. That's the whole reason he came to Earth.
I'm here to say, thats part of it, but thats only half. Like I said, the title of this Blog. Torn in Two. He tore two thing, from one act, of breaking sin, we got two pieces. Like, one piece of paper, torn in two, gives you two pieces of paper. Matthew 27:51- At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split. God didn't stop with breaking sin, and freeing us. That wasn't even the best bit. No, he saved the best bit for last. He split the curtain. He opened that door that held heaven back. Heaven was poured out over Earth, there is no longer anything in the way from you receiving a full blast from the spirit even NOW as you read this. There is nothing left on this Earth, or in Heaven, that can hold back God's love for you. So, receive it. Love it. That curtain i mentioned earlier that sat over your head, is torn. And that rock, that mountain, in your life, you have no power to move? Split in two. And with your mustard seed of faith, you tell it to move, and it jumps into the ocean, never to be seen again. There is a realm of heaven opening on you, even now. Just, soak, in what he has to give to you right now.

Be Blessed.

The Good Pain

Just a quick side note, if you guys have any friends with blogs, or you have a Blog, please follow this! I would really like to see it start to get somewhere. And please feel free to provide feedback, i'd love to hear it.

Doctors, Dentists, Surgeons, all of them have one thing in common, but all their occupations are very contradictory. They make you well, and heal your scars, but have you noticed something? People are terrified of them. Because when something needs repairing, it requires removing ALL of the bad stuff and starting again. It sucks, because to get well, you need to endure a little more pain, to make sure, it doesn't come back. With that in mind, i have news for you. God Loves you. The best bit about knowing this, is just that. Its all you ever, ever need to know. The God who stepped down into time, sacrificed his son, made the heavens and the Earth, The beginning and the end, cares to spare a thought for you. If you can simply comprehend that, embrace that fact, that he does in fact love you, you're set. But what you need to understand, is God loves you enough to hurt you, if its for the right reasons. And by hurt, i dont mean scold you. But if theres a thorn in your foot, God will remove it. And yeah, its going to hurt, but only through removing it can he heal it. You need to let go. Don't embrace a thorn that causes you to limp.

Something we have to be ever mindful of in our lives, is just what foundation we are building the things in our life off. Don't get me wrong, God loves it when we care for ourselves, but we need to be ever mindful that we are hosting the presence of God. He walks with you, and you path a way for his Spirit to move in. But when you work on things, from Relationships, Financial Struggles, Self Discipline, and even just being yourself, You have to make sure you build it keeping in mind, the spirit you host. Doing that, is easy. You listen to God's voice, and do as he asks, and no matter how ridiculous it is, it is exactly what you needed to do. But here's the thing. Satan's great at mimicking that voice. And too often, people find they reach a point in something, where they are so convinced its built around God. Satan steps back, pleased that its not all where it should be, and God tears it back down. Not to hurt you, but because leaving it where it is will hurt you so much more. Thats the thing to be ever mindful of. Let the God that made you keep Remaking you, he never runs out of ideas, and will always take you to a new place, just keep in mind that when your working on something that matters to you, you need to make sure it matters to God aswell, because if its not something he wants, he'll just tear it back down, because thats something he needs to do before he can heal that wound, and you can walk again. But this time, without a limp.

How on earth, do i take something i love so much, and just give it all back to him, when I know he is going to take it down?
Thats the thing. Your not meant to understand it. Live by faith, and not by sight. Give it back to him, and be open to hear what he has to say. Sometimes you'll hate it, but it will always be what you needed to hear. And if you take that advice, and work on it, practically, you'll start to see a real difference being made. Even if it hurts at first. Believe me, I know it does, but when you pull that thorn out, you'll see God has a much better plan. And a lot of the time, God's plans aren't something that make you comfortable, or even at peace about whats going on. Thats the best bit though. When God's doing something, he isn't a God of comfort. He will break that thing in you that needs to be broken, because he loves you. And your going to have to step out in faith, and do something hard, something you don't like. But soon enough, when the reward comes, you'll be so glad you did. Be wary though, sometimes a reward doesn't always come, and things get worse. Go back to God, and ask again, what you need to do. Cause either you heard wrong, or Satan's fighting back, because your starting to do what God needs you to do. And that scares the crap out of him. Just make sure when you hear from God, you spend some time soaking in his presence, and make sure that move is right. Because if its not, he will tear it down, again and again, until you get it right. Is he a God of promise? Yes. Absolutely. So much so, he will do everything and anything to ensure he fulfills that promise, even if it means breaking something in you.

Nothing Special...

Jesus, was nothing Special. Now half of you are like... umm, what? Are you sure this is a Christian Blog? Some are like, ok, this guys just wack, but maybe a few are like, whoa, ok... Maybe he's onto something here. I'm not sure what, but, let's find out... Well, read on to find out. If i were to be honest, this is much better suited to a sermon. Pretty much got it written up, ready to go, but heres a much condensed version :)

Jesus. Who is he? Alpha, Omega, Beginning and End. He starts it and Finishes it in the same breath. Jesus is "God is Salvation". Yeah, that's an impressive Resume hey? But im here to say, thats nothing. Jesus, or God, only came to Earth as a man. His supernatural power didn't give him an extra arm, leg, or even necessarily drop dead good looks (Hey ladies...) haha he came as one man. Nothing special, nothing new, just, a man. Why would he do that? Surely 20 arms would make healing light work yeah? Well. Yes. But like i said. He was nothing special. Jesus, was nothing Special. Your first name, is nothing special. Your last name, your heirloom, your inheritance, or, in Jesus' case, "Christ"- Is the thing thats special. His inheritance, Was all the power he had. He didn't come to Earth to show you what God can do in his infinite Glory. No, he came to show you what God can do through just one man. And here's where it gets fun- You, can do so much more than Jesus did. Let that sink in. Jesus, only showed you a foundation of what one man can do. But, his foundation for us, relies on our foundation with God. He spent 30 years, setting a foundation. So make sure, you spend a good lot of time, building a foundation on God. I know a lot of you already have! I'll type my Bible verse here, cause it SO supports this, but ill leave a reference for it down the bottom- "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do;", but look, it doesn't stop there. Jesus, isn't the kinda guy who takes half measures. He doesn't want you to do what he did. When he says jump, you say how high!! Read the second half of the verse- "and greater works than these will he do, because i am going to the Father". Yeah, accept that Blessing kids. Children, i might say. Of God, of course. YOU can do greater things than even Jesus did.

How? How on EARTH do we do what he did!
Thats just the thing. Re-word the question, and the answer is in there- How on HEAVEN IN EARTH do we do what he did? Thats exactly right. You tear heaven open with Praise, with a Servants heart to God. You open yourself completely. Become completely vulnerable to God. Listen to that little voice that says go and pray for this person, or go pick up that rubbish, It's hurting my Earth. Whatever it is, be faithful in the small things, catch the small fish, and sooner or later God's gonna drop a Whale on your lap; and then some. So, heres what im here to say. Everything you know about Jesus? Double it. YOU can do that! And believe me, Jesus is humble, he isn't going to get annoyed. His heart breaks for this broken Generation. So, let's fix it! Don't just pray for the strength. Going to a gym and only Drinking a protein shake ain't gonna do nothing. Work out. Get out there, and Arise. Shine God's light in the darkest corner. And even if you fail, Failure, builds muscle. Never stop growing guys! YOU have the anointing to save a Generation. In Jesus name, that belongs to you. Now go, watch the music video, read the verse, and GET OUT THERE!

This isn't the best video I have seen of this, but the scripture accompanying it and the Pictures make it pretty good- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJ3qTqUgSYE

John 14:12
